Great Neptune !!!! KidGenius is one of the proud recipients of the Autism Speaks Swimming and Water Safety Scholarship Fund.
This quarterly grant was awarded to us to benefit the KidGenius "Aqualads" ISR Swimming program, through Marion County ISR . This will allow us to identify at risk children with autism that are in need of these valuable life saving lessons and provide them with a foundation that can very well save their lives.
KidGenius is proud to partner with Marion County ISR to bring water safety to the special needs community of Marion County. The KidGenius Aqualads program will provide children with the skill necessary to save themselves should they ever find themselves in trouble in the water.
Traditional swimming lessons introduce children to the water without teaching them how to survive should they fall into the water alone. During ISR Self-Rescue™ survival swimming lessons, Certified Instructors spend ONE-on-ONE time with your child and share important water safety information with parents. Certified Instructors intergrate basic swimming instruction with survival training that is developmentally appropriate for young children.
ISR Instructors are schooled in behavior psychology and the aspects of sensory-motor learning, shaping behavior, physiological conditions as they relate to the water, and emotional learning. ISR instructors have spent over 80 hours studying video and analyzing the effects of positive reinforcement and how it is applied at the precise moment in time to be effective
The Autism Speaks Swimming and Water Safety Scholarship Fund selects eligible organizations and programs to identify qualified financially disadvantaged individuals with autism and offer scholarship funds for swimming and water safety lessons. Scholarship funds are awarded to organizations on a quarterly basis. Organizations may be granted up to four quarters, depending on how often the swimming and water safety program runs.
