Autism in Ocala:   We wish to open an Autism center here in Ocala Florida.  As previous board members of Ocala Autism Support Network, we were able to see first hand what families who have children on the Autism Spectrum needed and were missing.  In an effort to be able to provide these services, therapies and assistive devices, KidGenius was born.

Non verbal communication techniques

Certified developmental specialist Tereka Louise of Reka Rocks Wellness will be demonstrating ways, such as early sign language, to encourage parents to use effective non verbal techniques for communicating with their child. With a hands on approach, each family will have the opportunity to acquire skills and tips on how to build a healthy relationship with your child(ren) while attending to their needs and developmental delays

Sensory Massage Workshop

Learn to understand your child's sensory needs. You will learn how to apply a nurturing touch  and be introduced to creative sensory play time activities. Overstimulated children and children with tactile sensitivity may find deep massages relaxing and may even improve motor skills and muscle tone.  Under-stimulated children can also see positive results through a lighter massage that would serve to stimulate rather than soothe.

Through the use of puppets,sensory toys,children songs and stories,you will learn to engage your child during massage and promote healthy touch, while learning the benefits of massage and understanding your child's sensory needs through a nurturing touch.
