Autism in Ocala:   We wish to open an Autism center here in Ocala Florida.  As previous board members of Ocala Autism Support Network, we were able to see first hand what families who have children on the Autism Spectrum needed and were missing.  In an effort to be able to provide these services, therapies and assistive devices, KidGenius was born.

Aqualads, Swimming lessons, Ocala ChallengerLeague

The KidGenius Aqualads program will provide children with the skill necessary to save themselves should they ever find themselves in trouble in the water. Traditional swimming lessons introduce children to the water without teaching them how to survive should they fall into the water alone. During ISR Self-Rescue™ survival swimming lessons, Certified Instructors spend ONE-on-ONE time with your child and share important water safety information with parents. Certified Instructors intergrate basic swimming instruction with survival training that is developmentally appropriate for young children. ISR Instructors are schooled in behavior psychology and the aspects of sensory-motor learning, shaping behavior, physiological conditions as they relate to the water.

The Challenger Division was established in 1989 as a separate division of Little League to enable boys and girls with physical and mental challenges, ages 4-18, or up to age 22.  Teams are set up according to abilities, rather than age, and can include as many as 15-20 players. Challenger games can be played as tee ball games, coach pitch, player pitch, or a combination of the three.  In a Challenger game, each player gets a chance to bat. The side is retired when the offense has batted through the roster, or when a pre-determined number of runs have been scored, or when three outs are recorded. Little League recommends that no score be kept during Challenger games. The Challenger players wear the same uniforms, shoulder patches and safety equipment as other Little Leagues.
